An early ripening and productive grape that originated in France and which is now grown widely in many areas including California and Northern Italy. The grape produces a rich fruity non-astringent wine that, because of its softness, is often blended with many of the world's finest Cabernet Sauvignons such as Bordeaux. Characteristics: Firm to soft and slightly fruity. Appropriate Foods: Light red meats and game such as duck.
Believe you me; if you're paying 5 or 6 quid for Merlot at Tescos then STOP! Make Beverdale Merlot and for about £1.30 a bottle, you'll be drinking a much better, quality wine. NO DOUBT. Best thing I ever did, was to start wine making using Beverdale kits. ABSOLUTLEY BRILLIANT!Ian Lewis (Jun 23 2017, 19:30 PM)
I have made this kit twice and the results have been excellent. An enjoyable wine that I have given to friends who have all enjoyed and informed equal taste and quality to a shop bought wine.Samara Carr (Sep 16 2014, 15:45 PM)
the beaverdale merlot is a superb wine kit spot onmr jolly (May 21 2014, 12:11 PM)
I brew a lot of this, and can certainly recommend it. One word of advice though, leave the packet of oak chippings out of the equation. They cause the resulting wine to have a coarse flavour, but without it you will produce a very smooth tasty red wine.Ken (Nov 03 2011, 06:24 AM)
I've tried many of the beaverdale kits, all very nice but this is the best of the lot. My wife drinks the Pinot G but now and again will drink the Merlot, it really is that nice. Smooth, fruity and lovely every time.David (Aug 29 2011, 16:15 PM)

Never let me down. Fantastic service, extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Brilliant during lockdown ( and before). Drive from
North Nottinghamshire to Derbyshire every time rather than buy on internet, well worth it. Thanks guys.Rob -the Chardonnay man (Apr 13 2021, 20:44 PM)
